I was extra excited to visit Muum Maam as I had been previously and loved it! The atmosphere of the place with the warm naked light bulbs is welcoming and relaxed, perfect for any occasion. I booked online in advanced and was happily surprised by the smooth process with confirmation emails and a follow-up thank you!
We started our evening with Spring Rolls. These were honestly the reason I came back. For 6 months I have had food flashbacks to my first taste of these delicious morsels of crab and prawn. I was so pleased that they were exactly as I remembered with a crunchy flaky ‘rice net’ followed by the sweet flavour of the crab mixture I wish I could eat the whole plate! Alas, I only got two : )
Then came the smorgasbord. As there were 5 of us we ordered a total of 5 mains (including fried rice) and I tasted everyone, but of course I had my favourites.
As you may have gathered despite my new heart and “healthy outlook on life” my love for fried foods and pork belly is undying – I will walk it off in the morning!
With this in mind I couldn’t go past the Crispy pork belly and snake beans stir-fried with Phrik Khing chilli paste. This was followed by a very rich and beautiful Massaman coconut curry of veal ossobucco and potato with traditional condiments. The traditional condiments turned out to be crispy noodles – bonus!
We had a couple of the specials such as the leather jacket, Wagyuy stir-fry, which were both great but far too healthy for a birthday dinner.
To top off my very decadent evening, I ordered a Banana Fritters all to myself!!! This was another highlight from my last visit as it is also served with my favourite Gelato Messina flavour.
It was a spectacular week in which I was very spoiled but my memories of Muum Maam are always brilliant!
The food doesn’t disappoint. The exceptional quality and delicious flavours linger and your memories are sweetened by the reasonable prices. I noticed they do take-away and am now considering moving to the delivery zone… seriously xx
