Working in three offices now (surprise! I got another internship) buying lunch each day isn’t really viable, especially when you aren’t getting paid! I try to bring lunch, however traditionally my efforts were lax to say the least. The other day after my home-made less than filling salad I bought a snack from the corner store. This yoghurt.
I thought a light snack would tide me over until I went out to dinner that night. Kind of healthier than buying a chocolate bar and packet of chips. This yoghurt set me back $4… for an individual tub of yoghurt… which, I ultimately forgot about and left in my bag over the weekend. Poor yoghurt.
With such an assault on my purse strings occuring increasingly more regularly and my bank account dwindling I decided to take action (by making another purchase) my new Bambi-esque lunchbox. My lunchbox and I will attempt to explore this world of home-made portable, work friendly lunches. Attempting to make them tasty but not smelly, remove the threat of onion/garlic breath, and provide variety to your boring little desk.
I’m hoping these ideas will be easily achieved with basic office kitchen fit outs i.e. microwaves, sandwich presses or just a wee little fridge.
Your ideas are most welcome! Please let me know of any special ingredients or your favourite office lunch that I might test out for size!
